Consultant Anaesthetist
10PA plus 1.5 APA

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking substantive Consultant Anaesthetist with a special interest in Colorectal. The successful candidate will work alongside the existing team to help grow, develop and innovate the service to meet modern standards of care.
The successful candidate will join a team of highly dedicated medical, nursing and other professionals committed to providing a high quality service to our patients with the brand new Maternity Theatre facilities.
• You will participate in a 1:10 Consultant of the week model, including prospective cover covering emergency theatres.
• You will also participate in a 1:4 weekend elective list
• You will join a team of 22 Consultants with several Specialists and Specialty Doctors supporting all general services of the hospital including a busy Accident and Emergency department, Theatres covering Maternity, Trauma, Gynecology and ENT.
• On-call shifts provide non-residential cover of Obstetrics and emergency theatres, supervising a dedicated resident anaesthetist.
• Lead Assessments of the deteriorating patient for emergency admission to the Intensive Care Unit.
• Lead the team in managing pre and post operative theatre admissions.
• Participate in clinical audit, governance and quality improvement.
• Demonstrate evidence-based practice where appropriate.
• Undertake and participate in the appraisal process and job planning.
• Satisfy the criteria for revalidation.
• Contribute to service development in areas of special interest and expertise.
• Actively participate in continuing medical education.
• Undertake personal appraisal and job-planning as part of revalidation.
• Maintain all mandatory training requirements.
