An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Experienced Staff Nurse within the Cardiovascular Directorate on Evan Jones Ward.

Evan Jones team is a dynamic and friendly team, who are keen to help support and develop nurses interested in experiencing this exciting and changeable environment. If you are an enthusiastic, flexible and passionate experienced nurse then this would be the ideal opportunity for you

Evan Jones is a mixed day case and inpatients Unit. We have 8 cath lab recovery beds and 14 inpatients beds . We prepare and recover patients following Cath lab procedures and we take cardiology, vascular and also venous thrombolysis for inpatients.

Independently manage a group of patients within the speciality whilst
working as part of the multidisciplinary team, delivering individualised and
personalised direct patient care

Is wholly accountable for his / her practice in line with the NMC code of professional conduct and takes every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve his / her knowledge and professional competence.

Effective communicator with patients/carers/families regarding treatment and management.

Demonstrate appropriate practice in the assessment,
planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.



Undertake physical observations as follows: blood pressure, temperature, respirations, blood sugars, urinalysis, weight and height, drain monitoring including measurement and escalate appropriately.

Responsible for the correct administration of prescribed medication via oral, enteral and IV routes including transfusion of blood and blood products

Be responsible for assessing and recognising emergencies in the
speciality. To interpret information and take appropriate action and to lead
others to do the same.

Work alongside the multi-disciplinary team to ascertain treatments and advise on nursing priorities.

Ensure safe and effective care for complex patients requiring advance clinical skills and responsible for carrying out specialist nursing procedures to area.

Complete evidenced based interventions including enteral feeding line care, IV line care, complex dressings and wound management, pre and post-operative care relevant to specialities.
