Are you a dedicated and skilled educator with expertise in Design and Technology?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Curriculum Leader - Design and Technology to join our team at The Portsmouth Academy from September 2025.

As Curriculum Leader, you will lead and develop the Design Technology department ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 3 & 4. You will be instrumental in designing a curriculum that is inclusive, inspiring and prepares students for the future of design and technology.Our department is well-equipped with two workshops and supported by experienced technicians enabling hands-on practical learning and innovation at every level.

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Design Technology curriculum
• Deliver outstanding teaching that engages and motivates students
• Support and develop a team of teachers and technicians
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies for improvement
• Champion creativity,sustainability and innovation across the department

About you:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)with a strong track record in Design Technology
• Proven leadership ability or the potential to lead and inspire a team
• Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum and technological advancements
• Passionate about developing students' practical and creative skills
