ASSISTANT CATERING MANAGER
GO3 Spinal Point £24,027 per annum pro rata
Actual Salary (39 week contract) £16,676 per annum
30 hours per week during school term time plus 5 days
Hours will be 8.45 am - 3.00 pm
The Maelor School is a highly successful 11-18 school with its own in house catering providing a breakfast, break and lunch time service for up to 780 pupils.
We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Cook to assist the Catering Manager and be responsible, with supervision, for the service of food throughout the school day and also support occasional after school events.
Key Responsibilities and tasks (please see attached Job Description) To prepare, cook and serve food and beverages.
To set up and clear away the dining room area.
To clean the kitchen and/or dining area.
To assist in the planning of menus and ordering of food.
To assist the Catering Manager with the day to day supervision of the kitchen staff.
To take responsibility, in the absence of the Catering Manager, for the running of the kitchen and the catering facilities.
To assist with maintaining correct records of food stocks, money (including cash reconciliation) and equipment.
To ensure that all health and safety policies are adhered to by all staff.
Previous experience of working in a school or college catering environment is desirable but not essential – please see Person Specification.
