Summary
We are advertising for four Ward Manager positions across the Secure Care Division to provide clinical and managerial leadership to our wards.
Nurses working in the Secure Division contribute to the provision of specialised treatment in Low, Medium and High Secure settings, working closely with service users, carers and partner organisations in the provision of safe and effective care.
Ward Nurse Managers will model the Trust values of Continuous Improvement, Accountability, Respect and Enthusiasm in progressing the Trust ambition to achieve perfect care for our patient group.
The Vision is to support service users along their care pathway ensuring appropriate assessment, engagement and therapeutic activity. We also aim to support a timely discharge into the community.
Since the 1st November 2021 a Recruitment & Retention premia has been introduced to attract and retain staff working within the Secure Care Division in High, Medium and Low Secure Services and further support our “Grow Our Own Strategy”. For our qualified nurses this will be a premium ranging from £1200 - £7500* per annum depending on allocated area.
*Allocations will be determined by service need, R&R will reflect the amount for that clinical area. Service need is fluid and subject to change.
The ward manager will provide professional nursing leadership at ward level (in line with service philosophy), acting as a role model and demonstrating up to date knowledge of mental health and learning disability issues and awareness of physical health needs, through the development of professional expertise and the maintenance of professional networks. The ward manager will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to promote the mental and physical well being of patients by ensuring health promotion, psychological, rehabilitation and educational needs are addressed.
Mersey Care is one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West, serving more than 1.4 million people across our region and are also commissioned for services that cover the North West, North Wales and the Midlands.
We offer specialist inpatient and community services that support physical and mental health and specialist inpatient mental health, learning disability, addiction and brain injury services. Mersey Care is one of only three trusts in the UK that offer high secure mental health facilities.
At the heart of all we do is our commitment to ‘perfect care’ – care that is safe, effective, positively experienced, timely, equitable and efficient. We support our staff to do the best job they can and work alongside service users, their families, and carers to design and develop future services together. We’re currently delivering a programme of organisational and service transformation to significantly improve the quality of the services we provide and safely reduce cost as we do so.
Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles.
