Job Summary
As a General Assistant, you will support a wide range of operational and maintenance activities within the business. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of our factory, warehouse, and company vehicles. This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, reliability, and a strong team ethic. You will also provide general support to the Sales Manager and Directors as needed.

Key Responsibilities
• Roller Maintenance:
o Strip and rebuild rollers.
o Maintain and repair roller parts for resale, including blackening and reconditioning.
• Factory and Facilities Cleaning:
o Perform general maintenance and cleaning duties across the factory, including kitchen, offices, and reception areas.
o Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of MRL company vehicles as required.
• Vacuum Pump Maintenance:
o Service and repair vacuum pumps as directed.
• Warehouse Operations:
o Pick and pack customer orders accurately.
o Receive incoming deliveries, perform quality checks, and log goods appropriately.
o Repackage, relabel, and store stock efficiently.
• Logistics Support:
o Carry out occasional van deliveries as required.
• Administrative and Sales Support:
o Provide general assistance to the Sales Manager and Directors when necessary.

Required Skills and Attributes
• Reliable and proactive with a strong work ethic
• Ability to use initiative and work independently when required
• Strong team player with a positive, cooperative attitude
• Good attention to detail and time management
• Willingness to learn new skills with the potential for development and progression within the role
• Computer literacy essential (e.g., basic data entry, email, inventory systems)
• Full UK driving licence essential
Preferred Skills and Attributes
• Previous mechanical experience preferred
• Previous engineering experience turning or milling would be an advantage
