About the Role

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading social housing provider in East London who is seeking a proactive and experienced Damp and Mould Supervisor to join their Property Services team. This is a critical role aimed at tackling one of the sector's most urgent challenges-ensuring homes are safe, dry, and habitable for residents.

As Damp and Mould Supervisor, you will oversee day-to-day operations related to damp, condensation, and mould issues across a portfolio of social housing properties. You'll lead a dedicated team of operatives and work collaboratively with surveyors, residents, and contractors to deliver timely, effective remedial works and preventive strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate damp and mould inspection, treatment, and remediation works.

  • Line-manage a team of operatives and subcontractors, ensuring high-quality service delivery.

  • Conduct site inspections and risk assessments, escalating complex cases to surveyors where needed.

  • Liaise directly with residents, ensuring clear communication and minimal disruption during works.

  • Maintain accurate records of jobs, materials, and health & safety compliance using internal systems.

  • Identify root causes of damp and mould and recommend long-term solutions.

  • Work closely with internal departments including Repairs, Compliance, and Asset Management.

  • Monitor KPIs, budgets, and timelines to ensure service standards are met or exceeded.

Requirements
  • Proven experience in damp and mould management within social housing or a related property maintenance environment.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience supervising teams or contractors.

  • In-depth understanding of housing disrepair legislation, building pathology, and moisture diagnostics.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, particularly with vulnerable or disadvantaged residents.

  • Relevant qualifications in construction, surveying, or property maintenance (e.g., HNC, CIOB, CSCS, SMSTS) desirable.
