Summary
We are seeking someone to join our small, friendly creamery team as a Cheesemaker / Creamery Lead.
Loch Arthur offers a very different work environment, rich and diverse, and with a strong sense of purpose. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and day to day operation of the Creamery. This will include supporting those working in the creamery in their tasks. The team includes people with learning disabilities and short-term volunteers who live at Loch Arthur.
This role is 4 days per week with occasional additional hours to cover holidays. Some early starts are required.
The starting rate for this position is £13.50 per hour and this will be reviewed after any necessary training is complete. A higher rate of pay may be agreed for a candidate with exceptional skills for this role.
This vacancy involves
• producing high quality dairy products. These products are sold in Loch Arthur’s farm shop and through wholesale and mail order.
• maintaining standards in keeping with current hygiene regulations and quality control as well as preparing and setting up the Creamery for the working day.
• providing suitable support for a team that includes people with additional needs and to maintain a good and satisfying work environment.
Ideally you will be an experienced creamery worker , or you will already have experience working with adults with additional support needs. In either case an interest in and openness to learn about other aspects of this role is essential as is attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards.
We will give training in any necessary aspects of the role.
Applicants are required to undergo PVG clearance for this role.
