Summary

Warehouse Supervisor (Manager):

Working Hours:
- 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility on finish time if carriers are running late.

What we offer:
- Salary £35,000.

- 20 days annual leave, increasing to 25 at a rate of 1 per year.

Overview:
This is a newly created role within the organisation. Overseeing and allocating resource to the team of 5/6 warehouse operatives. This is a role where we would expect the candidate to not only oversee the operations and allocate resource, but to be an integral part of the team and get involved in every part of the warehouse operation. This role will suit a seasoned warehouse operative or supervisor looking for the next step in their career and give support to a very capable team.

Day to Day Responsibilities.
- Prioritise workload for the warehouse operation, ensuring all deliveries go out on time and accurately.
- Be the key contact for the sales and purchasing functions of the business to ensure promises made to customers happen.
- Ensure all operations within the warehouse are carried out in a safe manor.
- Carry out forklift and safety checks on a regular basis and keep appropriate records.
- Key Holder, ensuring the warehouse is locked and secure before leaving.
- Ensure effective use of space within the warehouse, looking for opportunities to consolidate pallets, optimise pick locations on a regular basis.
- Look for opportunities to improve process flows and review with the general manager on implementation.
- Willing and able to check accurately check goods in from suppliers, pick, pack and operate fork lifts.
- Ensure forklift training is up to date for employee's.
- Receive emails from all parts of the business and relay to the warehouse to ensure a quick and effective flow of information / instructions.
- Carry out fire alarm test & drills and keep records up to date.
- Support the directors in ensuring that recommendations from BSI in acquiring ISO9001 & 14001 are carried out within the warehouse operation.
- Ensure agreed processes are followed by the warehouse team at all times.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Familiar with all expects of a distribution warehouse, goods in, put away, picking, packing, stock checking.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and leadership skills.
- Sufficient computer skills to deal with emails, spreadsheets and word documents.
- Counter Balance and Bendi/Flexi Licence - for the right candidate we can provide training courses, but we would expect the candidate to have been operating forklifts in previous roles.
- Can do attitude is a MUST.
