Summary
The Macmillan Skin Cancer Support Worker will work alongside the Skin Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialists in supporting patients during all stages of skin cancer from diagnosis, treatment and beyond.
To support patients within the inpatient and outpatient setting.
To perform holistic needs assessments for the less complex cancer patients.
To provide assistance with the day to day running of the Macmillan Cancer Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with support worker, HCA or administrative background within a cancer setting to join our well-established Skin cancer team at St Georges.
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who will help to support patients on their Skin cancer pathway.
This post requires an individual who is confident in working autonomously but also works well in a team. You are expected to work across sites- (St Georges Hospital and Nelson Health Centre).

The Macmillan Skin Cancer Support Worker will support individuals in navigating the complex health and social care system before, during and following the completion of cancer treatment. The post holder will coordinate care by providing a single point of access, including rapid re-entry into the system for those identified as having urgent or specialist needs, and coordinate care, education, and support for people with non-complex care needs.
