Position: Teaching Assistant
Hours: Full-time, term time only
Salary: £13.80 - £15/hr dependant on experience
Contract: Ongoing with potential for permanent placement
Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting pupils with special educational needs, enabling access to learning in a nurturing and inclusive setting.
You will:
Support pupils' personal, social, and academic development
Assist in the delivery of specialist care programmes and medical routines following training
Promote personal independence and dignity in all areas
Contribute to planning and delivering engaging learning activities
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to provide holistic support
Use tools like the Earwig App to monitor and celebrate student progress
Encourage positive behaviour and inclusion in the school community
SEN Teaching Assistant Skills & Requirements:
Genuine passion for supporting children with complex needs
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Understanding of child development and inclusive practices
ICT proficiency and confidence using classroom technology
Team player with excellent communication skills
Experience with children or in a care setting is desirable
Nursing experience desirable
BSL, Makaton or PECS knowledge desirable
First Aid or medical procedure training is a plus
