Working hours: 35 Hours per week, with opportunity for flexible and hybrid working

Salary: £63,470 per annum subject to qualifications and experience

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, talented and effective educational professional to our existing team of School Advisers. The successful applicant will contribute positively to our team, promoting educational excellence across our family of schools, and encouraging the flourishing of all pupils.
We are looking for an individual with a successful track record of school leadership, a Christian heart and passion for school improvement.
You should note, there is a Genuine Occupational Requirement of being a practising Christian and a member of a church recognised by Churches Together in England and be fully committed to the aims and values of the Church of England, Diocese of Chelmsford, and the DBE.


ROLE DUTIES

1) Act as the Christian Distinctiveness Lead for schools and academy trusts across the Diocese, providing expert guidance on collective worship, spiritual development, social justice, and theological vision.

2) Provide strategic leadership on collective worship and spirituality across all age phases including Secondary, offering bespoke advice, model practices, and school-based support.

3) Lead the diocesan strategy for spiritual development, encouraging its integration across the curriculum and wider school life.

4) Promote and develop pupil and community engagement in social justice, courageous advocacy, and ethical leadership, grounded in Christian theology.


5) Work with clergy and parishes to strengthen church–school relationships, particularly through worship, vision alignment, and shared values


CRITERIA
• Substantial experience of working within or alongside Church of England schools in a senior leadership, advisory or training capacity.
• A strong understanding of the Christian distinctiveness of Church schools and the Church of England Vision for Education
• Theologically reflective, spiritually grounded and committed to nurturing faith and spirituality in educational contexts
