Social Care & Education are seeking experienced, compassionate, and reliable Children’s Support Workers to join our team on a temporary basis. This role involves supporting young people with their day-to-day routines, promoting independence and confidence, and working closely with the wider care and multidisciplinary team to ensure each young person receives the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day care and emotional support to young people within a residential setting.
• Support young people with daily tasks including personal care, household duties and meal preparation.
• Be a positive role model, promoting confidence, independence and positive behaviours.
• Complete clear, accurate daily logs, incident forms and documentation in line with company policy and regulatory requirements.
• Support the Home Manager in updating support plans, risk assessments and behaviour management plans.
• Attend review meetings and contribute professionally and constructively to discussions about young people’s care.
• Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for the young people.
• Support young people to integrate into the home and participate in activities within the home and community.
• Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all residents.
Requirements:
• A minimum of one year’s experience working within a children’s residential home is essential.
• Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People or an equivalent qualification is required.
• A full United Kingdom driving licence is essential for this role.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, compassionate and resilient approach to working with children and young people with challenging behaviours.
• The ability to work long day shifts and sleep-ins as part of a rota.
