Summary
The Fraser Centre is looking to expand with the new role of Café Assistant with cooking experience to join our café!
Job Description:
Situated in the centre of Tranent The Fraser Centre opened in 2019 with an award winning hub featuring a cafe, cinema, activity rooms and offices. The Café is the heart of our hub serving as a popular place to meet friends, family and colleagues over breakfast, lunch or a coffee.
The café also caters for events as well as our own cinema programme.
We are looking for someone with high standards in service, excellent customer service skills, enjoys working with the public and part of a team, excellent communication skills and keen to work for a community focused charity in our vibrant community hub.
It is essential the applicant has experience in food preparation / cooking in a similar environment.
Hours will be variable and we are looking for someone flexible within our working hours of Tuesday – Saturday.
The role will be expected to support all aspects of our busy café, including:
Assisting the Catering Manager with cooking, baking and food preparation for the café;
Cooking in absence of the Catering Manager;
Food preparation;
Basic cooking skills;
Preparing coffee;
Representing the Trust and our high standards of customer service;
Ensuring the café is clean and safe;
Welcoming & assisting customers;
Taking payments;
Promoting the café;
Assisting the Catering Manager in any other aspect of the café operation;
