Summary
Participate in the effective operation of the Cardiac Technician role within the clinic, ensuring high standards of service delivery. Perform accurate recordings of patient vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, height and weight, ensuring this is correctly documented in the patient electronic health record. Perform Electrocardiography (ECG) recordings, ensuring urgent results are escalated to an appropriate clinician according to Heart Networks policy. Download ambulatory ECG and Blood Pressure results using clinical software, ensuring these are correctly recorded in the patient electronic health record. Effectively manage own time, working independently and with own initiative. Participate in stock management in regards to monitors and consumables, ensuring to flag any discrepancies to the management team to prevent impact on scheduled clinics. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of clinical rooms and working areas. Participate in infection control audits and hand hygiene assessments, promoting best practice in patient safety and clinical cleanliness. To ensure clear communication with patients and clients at all time, ensuring patients are treated with dignity, respect and confidentiality at all times. Take part in regular appraisals with the management team and work towards improving professional development. Complete all mandatory training and additional training as requested by the organisation. Identify areas for provision of health promotion and offer advice or complete necessary onward referrals where applicable. Cover basic reception duties such as answering telephones and booking appointments when required. Other tasks as delegated by Directors/Operations Manager
