Job Overview for Podiatrist
As a Podiatrist, you will be integral in assessing, diagnosing, and managing a diverse range of complex foot conditions. You will provide evidence-based treatments and contribute to health promotion and patient education. Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality podiatric assessments and treatment plans for patients with complex needs.
Independently manage caseloads, including patients with diabetes, musculoskeletal issues, and vascular conditions.
Perform nail surgery, wound care, and biomechanical assessments.
Utilize advanced therapeutic equipment as part of clinical care.
Educate patients on foot health and preventative care.
Maintain accurate clinical records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
Participate in audit, research, and service development activities.
Key Requirements
BSc (Hons) in Podiatry or equivalent qualification.
HCPC registration as a qualified Podiatrist.
Proficiency in using various podiatric interventions, including wound care, MSK assessments, and diabetic foot care.
Excellent clinical reasoning, organizational, and time-management skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within teams.
Dedication to ongoing professional development and high clinical standards.
Qualifications and Desirable Experience
Postgraduate qualifications or training in areas such as MSK, diabetes, or wound care (desirable).
Local anaesthesia and prescription-only medicine (POM-A / POM-S) certification (preferred).
Experience in community and domiciliary care settings is advantageous.
Familiarity with electronic patient record systems.
