This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of development standards officers. You will work within a high performing and supportive team to make decisions that shape how that special environment changes in the future.

We are looking for a chartered town planner with significant experience in development management in a senior role and who is passionate about our environment, capable of assisting in staff development and service improvement, and ultimately committed to delivering a quality service.

You will lead and manage a team which oversees the effective and efficient determination of planning applications and enforcement of planning legislation, and ensure that quality standards, customer care, productivity and performance levels are set and monitored. Reporting to the Chief Planning Officer you will be responsible for the performance and quality of the service in relation to applications, appeal and enforcement function. You will attend and provide advice to committees of the council. You will be required to oversee the development of staff and to assist in the delivery of service improvement.
