Summary

Your new role

Quarriers WHAT IF (Male) Service is recruiting 3x full time Intensive Support Workers who have skills to support young people in supported accommodation.

The WHAT IF (Male) team are looking for qualified people who will embrace their therapeutic role and provide appropriate re-nurturing and healing to young people to have attachment issues and fear if rejection.

As an Intensive Support Worker you will ensure that people's needs are met, through build trusting relationships with the young men and assist in helping them build self-esteem which will allow them to move towards independence.

Working pattern: Quarriers is offering 3x full time, permanent contracts working 39 hours per week. You will work over an 8 week rolling rota. Shifts are a mix of 8am - 4pm (Early Shift) 2pm - 10pm (late shift) with 4 out of 8 weekends off.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • Previous experience in working with young people who have experienced homelessness, difficulties with alcohol/ substances, emotional / mental health difficulties.
  • Recognised Social Care Qualification SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. .
  • Previous experience in housing support or similar role.
  • Compassion and empathy to support and listen to people who have experience trauma in their childhood or young lives.
