Summary

Coast & Country Cottages part of Sykes Holiday Cottages, have the exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Property Checker to join our bustling Salcombe team.


Contract: 3 month Seasonal Contract, July to September
Salary: Up to £12.21 per hour
Work Days & Hours: 15 hours per week, Friday and Saturday, 9am until 5.30pm
Working Location: Office based at our office in Salcombe
Team: Housekeeping
Reporting to: Housekeeping Manager

About the Role

Our Seasonal Property Checker will be crucial in ensuring our high standards are met, making this the perfect opportunity for those with a keen eye for detail and a knack for perfectionism.

Visiting our portfolio of properties to inspect and ensure our high standards are met, you will be crucial in communicating closely with the main office to ensure all maintenance and housekeeping issues are fed back to be dealt with accordingly making this the perfect opportunity.

We want to hear from someone who can hit the ground running, who can use their excellent cleaning experience to work as part of our fast-paced, friendly team meeting the needs of our valued Guests and Owners!



Your Responsibilities

As Property Checker, you will be responsible for the following areas of accountability:


Covering property inspections, correcting any issues identified
Thoroughly check garden and outside areas, including BBQ’s hot tubs
Stocking starter supplies of logs/kindling for open fires during winter months
Ensure welcome packs and standard cleaning supplies are in place ready for guest arrival
Advise guests properties are ready for early check in where appropriate
Check heating, TV remotes, key safes, lighting etc.. all in working order
Check individual specific requests have been actioned, such as high chairs, twin beds
Liaising occasionally with owners/caretakers to resolve minor issues
On occasion if required you may be required to assist in the cleaning of properties
Deliver any missed or unexpected items as required
Carry out inventory checks on vacant properties, upload these to internal computer system and liase with owners/office on replacement items
Check oil tank levels during winter months and liase with owners/office on restocking where necessary
Report maintenance issues to the office and correct any minor issues if appropriate
Performing office assistance during the duration of the busy holiday season on occasions if required.

Ability to demonstrate a flexible attitude to work and working hours
Previous Housekeeping experience working in a similar position
Reliable, trustworthy and can work autonomously
Great teamwork and communication skills
