Summary
Work under the direction and guidance of Midwifery Education Team. To facilitate and deliver training programmes in a variety of learning environments using a range of teaching methods, e.g., ward based, classroom and simulation suites. To assist the Practice Assessors and Supervisors in supporting apprentices and learners within the clinical environment under the guidance of the Practice Educators. To assist with the on boarding of new starters ensuring they have a comprehensive induction to the Trust and have a proactive plan for their first weeks in the practice area Provide the learner/trainee with advice and support to uptake learning experience that align with their relevant frameworks or portfolios. Work alongside learners/ new starters to develop learners/ new starter’s clinical confidence and competence. To support non-qualified staff to complete their competency documents and to fulfil rotation requirements of the service Deliver pastoral care to learners and new starters in the clinical environment. Complete administrative tasks as appropriate for role Asist in co-ordinating events and training opportunities. Provide monthly training records To ensure the learning environment is appropriate for all learners and adapt training where necessary. To effectively manage and priorities workload. To work without direct supervision and make day to day decisions within own scope of practice. Along with using initiative to escalation to others when required. Contributing to the development and evaluation of learning events to ensure continuous improvement. Undertake service audits as necessary to role. Undertake clinical supervision of learners in appropriate role. Have an effective working relationship with the department managers and nursing, midwifery, AHP teams to increase attendance and participation at training event. To provide advice and encouragement to individual staff who express an interest in learning development and direct them to the appropriate resources. To maintain clinical competency by undertaking an agreed number of hours in clinical practice To support recruitment and retention initiatives for the non-registered workforce To assist with the co-ordination and delivery of clinical skills training to the trainees To support learners with their apprenticeship documentation including tripartite meetings To assist in the delivery of teaching in the fundamental aspects of care To work the Digital midwife to support training of IT systems
