Summary
The Programme Management Office Manger provides a diverse range of services to support the delivery of programme objectives. The role enables the smooth running of the programme by supporting the Programme Manager through the range of programme management processes and business management actions and activities.
DBS is facing significant change in the coming months and years, which will impact the way it does its business. In doing this role, you will help to deliver the Service Delivery Contract Transformation Programme and Corporate Services Modernisation (CSM) for Defence, in accordance with the Shared Service Strategy for Government, GSSS.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
Planning and Scheduling – Working with the PMO scheduler to implement and maintain appropriate systems to enable effective planning and scheduling.
Monitoring and Reporting – establish and maintain project controls keeping the Programme Manager aware of the programme status. Prepare performance reports, present data and research new information.
Admin – ensure organisational tasks are carried out efficiently. Manage and monitor compliance of the PMO team with Department Security, Health & Safety, Diversity & Inclusion, Business Continuity and Business Planning
Resources – responsible for identifying, developing and deploying PMO resources. Manage workforce planning providing information for effective decision making to the Programme Manager.
Stakeholders – manage professional relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and act as lead focal point for certain external parties. Draft and sign-off correspondence.
Financial Control – lead a team responsible for monitoring programme-spend and contribute to the compilation of budgets, and the development of the Business Case where required.
Risk and Issues – manage potential Risks and Issues, working with the PMO Risk Manager, escalating as appropriate.
