Summary
We are excited to advertise the Senior Clinical Nurse position for our 14-bed mixed Adult Inpatient Assessment Unit (Mulberry 1) on our Fulbourn site.
Our Assessment Unit is part of our innovative and ambitious model of care, known as the 3-3-3 model. Our three wards work collaboratively to enable patients to access the right care at the right time. We have Assessment Unit, where patients stay up to 3 days, our Treatment ward (Mulberry 2), where patients stay up to 3 weeks and our Recovery Unit (Mulberry 3), where patients stay up to 3 months.
Our Mulberry 1 ward provides care for our local population experiencing serious mental illness. We need a strong Senior clinical Nurse to revolutionise the provision of care on our Assessment Ward. This will involve closely liaising with our multidisciplinary team members and our system partners to ensure the provision of efficient and co-ordinated care.
As a Trust we actively support and encourage innovation and transformation, so you will have a unique opportunity to shape the day-to-day operation and provision of care on our Assessment Ward.
Please get in touch if you are interested in joining us on our journey.
As a Senior Clinical Nurse, clear communication and relationship building are key skills. We will need you to build relationships with our community and partner services to support patients in their move back to the community, work with our Consultant Psychiatrist to establish new ways of working, support your colleagues on Mulberry 2 & 3 to introduce innovation and most importantly, to lead and develop your new team. We will need you to have leadership skills as you will be leading the team on Mulberry 1 and supporting junior staff. Part of this role is working closely with the Clinical nurse specialist to drive change and work with the team on changing initiatives.
Finally, you will be responsible for the provision of high-quality care on the ward. We will look to you to ensure the correct support is provided for patients and their families/carers, the ward is running safely and smoothly, research and innovation is encouraged and supported, and the ward is governed appropriately.
Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust is a health and social care organisation dedicated to providing high-quality care with compassion to improve the health and wellbeing of the people we care for, as well as supporting and empowering them to lead a fulfilling life.

These services include children's, adult and older people's mental health, forensic and specialist mental health, learning disabilities, primary care and liaison psychiatry, substance misuse, social care, research and development.
To achieve our goal, we look to recruit high-calibre candidates who share our vision and values. As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage applications from all sectors of the community, particularly from under-represented groups including disabled people and members of our ethnic minority and LGBTQ+ communities.
