Band 5, SCP4-6 (Actual salary £17,963 - £18,536 per annum)

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join Holybrook Primary School.

Holybrook Primary School is a happy, lively, caring school at the heart of the vibrant, strong Eccleshill village community. We are fortunate to have large, airy classrooms in our school and our outside grounds are extensive and beautiful. Holybrook and Horizons was recently judged to be ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and is now looking to recruit a highly skilled person to join the team.

Holybrook Primary School has committed, dedicated, enthusiastic and conscientious staff who plan carefully for the different learning needs and learning styles of the children in our classes.

Holybrook Primary School is part of Exceed Academies Trust, which currently consists of fourteen academies; ten primary schools, an all-through primary-to-secondary academy, two alternative provision academies (Primary and Secondary), and a specialist setting for children/young people who suffer from social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The Trust has an excellent reputation within Bradford and beyond, and an outstanding track record of supporting staff in developing their careers through specialist training lead by the Exceed Teaching School Hub and our Outstanding SCITT.

The successful candidate will;

• Have an understanding of the needs and development of young learners
• Have good knowledge of positive behaviour management strategies
• Have experience of working in a primary school or similar setting
• Support pupils’ learning with a range of SEND needs within the school
• Provide general or specific 1:1 support to the Class Teacher, in managing pupil behaviour within the classroom

The essential requirements of this role are;

• GCSE English and Maths Level C or above or equivalent
• Have previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia)
• Ability to show resilience and compassion for children who display a variety of needs
• Fluent English spoken to an appropriate standard, in line with the Immigration Act 2016
