Summary
We are looking for a dynamic, creative individual to join our Library Advocacy and Digital team.
We have a full-time permanent post for an Advocacy Officer primarily based at Maidenhead Library but with a requirement to cover all libraries within the Borough.
The salary is £28,193 - £32,104 per annum.
About us:
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) is set in the wider county of Berkshire, one of the most economically productive and innovative areas of the country. The library service takes pride in its exceptional team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing quality library services to the community.
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Library Officer to join our Library and Resident Contact (Face to Face) team.
The Role:
As part of the wider Library Specialist team, you will have a key role in delivering stock, digital, information and promotional expertise across the library service. You will work closely with and support members of the Operations Team with events, outreach and school visits. You will manage a designated stock area and create engaging social media content to drive library visits and membership, placing us at the heart of the community.
This role is also customer facing, dealing with enquiries from the Borough’s residents. The role will involve some evening and weekend working.
What we are looking for:
A love of books, reading and people with an understanding of the value of the public library service to communities and individuals.
Excellent digital skills and the ability to show people how to use a variety of digital devices and applications.
You will need to be able to work at any location in the Borough and to do physical work such as carrying boxes of books, pushing loaded book trolleys and being on your feet walking between floors and across the library for extended periods of time.
What we offer:
32 days annual leave plus bank holidays and option to purchase more.
Generous Local Government Pension scheme includes life cover (3 times of annual salary); and an Additional Voluntary Contribution (AVC) scheme to enhance your pension provision.
Free employee parking close to the libraries.
Give As You Earn scheme.
Instant Reward Scheme to recognise and reward innovative achievement.
Employee Assistance Programme providing counselling, advice and information.
Access to discounts and deals with hundreds of retailers, including discounted gym memberships and travel deals.
Interview date: w/c 2nd June
If you wish to discuss this position informally, please contact Paul Noakes (Library Specialist Team Leader) Paul.noakes@rbwm.gov.uk 07500125138, or Rachel Maskelyne (Library Specialist Team Leader) Rachel.maskelyne@rbwm.gov.uk 01628 796106
