Summary
To participate in the organisation, coordination, development and provision of the Calderdale Childrens Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service to ensure the provision of an efficient, high quality service. This job description is an outline of the main duties of the post. The postholder will be required to undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as directed. The content of this post will be reviewed in consultation with the postholder when necessary and in line with the service developments. To provide clinical expertise and advice on assessment, diagnosis and management of children with neurodevelopmental conditions as part of the multidisciplinary team. To work independently and as part of a team to manage a caseload and to promote efficient movement through the pathway. To provide clinical expertise to the multidisciplinary team to inform their decision making and to provide advice and guidance to carers, non-clinical staff or members of other professions, who may be influenced by this and to maintain professional relationships with relevant others, working as part of the wider team. To participate in the planning and implementation of the day to day operation of the Calderdale Childrens Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service to this client group. To prepare, implement and evaluate neurodevelopmental assessments for clients to ensure the delivery of designated standards of care consistent with departmental policies and professional guidelines. To develop, write, deliver and evaluate training packages with access to specialist support as required to parents, carers, other professional groups. To provide mentoring, clinical supervision, peer support and joint visits for professionals and assistants relevant to this clinical area. To assist in the training and supervision of assistants and students from various professions and to be involved in the provision of full time student placements in accordance with professional guidelines. To participate in the development of innovations in the Calderdale Childrens Neurodevelopmental Assessment Service and related service delivery issues, risk management, quality standard setting and clinical effectiveness. To maintain accurate and concise clinical records, providing appropriate reports, attend case conferences and reviews and to provide statistical information to facilitate future business planning in line with Trust guidelines.
