We welcome applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, sexual orientation, or religion.
At the Environment Agency we protect and improve the environment, acting to reduce the impacts of a changing climate on people and wildlife.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to support the management of our ambitious Flood & Coastal Risk Management programmes.
This role is varied and draws upon a diverse range of transferrable skills; you can expect to work as part of the team to:
• Contribute to programme management and governance.
• Analyse programme performance, including finances, outcomes, efficiencies and carbon reduction.
• Provide regular, accurate and timely updates on performance, preparing reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
• Use our IT systems and software to their full potential.
• Support the efficient running of the Anglian (Northern) Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
This role is initially for 12 months.
The team
The Programme Team tracks spending, delivery, and performance of programmes to manage flood risk. We advise on the status of the programme, risks, and opportunities. This role is key to understanding our programme, delivered by a range of different teams. We also supply information to national teams and the Anglian (Northern) Regional Flood and Coastal Committee, and brief communities, politicians and partners on progress.
Experience/skills required
Through your experience to date, we are seeking somebody who has:
• A focus on accurate recording and reporting of data, with good numeracy and understanding of Excel.
• A strong ability to analyse, interpret, and present complex data.
• An agile and innovative approach, willing to embrace change to improve productivity.
• Effective communication skills (written, graphical and verbal) and a proven ability to work with others.
• Experience of FCRM project development, delivery and programme is desirable but not essential.
The key things we are looking for are transferrable skills, energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.
