VACANCY
TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS and COMPUTING
Qualified Teacher Pay Range
(Required from September 2025)
An opportunity has arisen within our successful and highly skilled team for a teacher of maths and computing to join our school. At Turton our children are fiercely loyal, and so we are looking for someone who is just as committed to them.
This is an opening for someone to work with our collaborative, forward-thinking and reflective maths team. You would be joining a team of passionate, committed, hard-working and supportive teachers. We are looking for someone that is just as passionate; someone that understands the varying and complex needs of teaching years 7 – 11 and enjoys doing so. We are seeking a highly skilled practitioner, who flourishes by teaching the building blocks of maths and is able to ignite curiosity and wonder and who can help children retain their knowledge and have the confidence to build on it. There is also an opportunity to teach KS5 Maths.
Additionally, this post offers a rare opportunity to become an integral part of our successful and thriving Computing department, which offers a comprehensive and up to date Key Stage 3 curriculum covering all aspects of the current National Curriculum. The Key Stage 3 curriculum leads to either the BTEC Tech Award in Digital IT or the GCSE in Computer Science. These qualifications then lead to the respective Level 3 courses, the BTEC Nationals in IT and the A-Level in Computer Science.
Teachers are our most valued resource; thus, professional development is at the heart of our practice. We run our innovative and highly effective ‘Triad’ programme – a collaborative programme that supports everyone’s development, no matter what their level of experience. This is within a school culture that values all staff, promotes well-being and prioritises a manageable workload. Applications from colleagues seeking either full time or part time hours are equally welcome. This role would suit an experienced teacher or an ECT.
What the school offers its staff
Teaching is an ever-changing job, but the things we can guarantee are:
• Location: Bromley Cross (rural suburbs of Bolton).
• Train station 2 minutes from school.
• A unique ECF programme that runs for 4 years (not just 2).
• Every ECT has a dedicated coach and subject guide.
• Opportunities for career development.
• Bespoke CPD opportunities.
• Contract: permanent.
• Flexible working considered.
• A warm, caring, dedicated set of colleagues, who are very keen to learn from you.
