Summary

A Vacancy at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.


We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic pharmacist with a keen interest in Education and Training to join our Pharmacy Training Team. This is a key time to join the team, as we are broadening the scope of our training to include a more ward based focus. The post holder will be based at Scarborough hospital but will also need to travel occasionally to York hospital.



We welcome interest from GPhC registered pharmacists with hospital experience or with a proven track record in education and training. You must hold, or be working towards (in year 2) a postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy to Diploma level.

Prior experience of working in education and training is not essential; however an interest in training and development of others is crucial.



Depending on experience the post may be offered at band 7 to band 8a run through after successful completion of set objectives.

This post will be based at the Scarborough hospital site but you will work alongside the other members of the cross site training team to support the delivery training.



Core service hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am until 5:30pm and the post includes participation in the weekend, bank holiday and on-call rotas.

The position requires working with staff throughout the hospital, so you must have good communication and interpersonal skills, be organised and able to manage your own time effectively. You must be enthusiastic and passionate about providing good quality patient focused care, alongside a passion for nurturing talent and supporting the development of others.



Working with the education and training team you will facilitate training for new starters, coordinate trainee pharmacist training and organise educational opportunities for other healthcare professionals. You will also maintain your core clinical skills by contributing directly to the pharmaceutical care of in-patients within a general teaching hospital setting.
