Summary

Following the retirement of our current Caretaker an opportunity has arisen at St Anne's Church of England Primary School for a reliable and flexible fulltime Caretaker to join our team, who is keen to make a difference and assist with maintaining the premises and grounds to a high standard. The contracted hours will be 37 hours per week, worked between 7am-11.30am and 3pm - 6pm.St Anne’s C of E Primary is a unique site, set within extensive grounds which include a large playing field, two playgrounds, an outdoor swimming pool, forest school area, sensory garden and multiple entrances.

Job overview

The ideal candidate will be a seasoned multi-trades person capable of routine property maintenance and repairs. As a self-monitoring role, the successful applicant will be confident in making decisions, time management, working with the School’s Senior Leaders and the Health and Safety Team, prioritising workload and reporting performance to the Business Manager and Headteacher.
You will be responsible for the provision of reactive and proactive maintenance support to the school and premises team, school security and maintaining a safe school environment ensuring that the school has a safe and efficient working environment and infrastructure for its employees, pupils and their activities. You will also be required to maintain the swimming pool when it is open.
The successful applicant will be flexible in approach, hard working and caring. Excellent communication skills, verbally and in recording information is essential as well as is a friendly and courteous manner to pupils, parents, staff, visitors and contractors.This is a physically demanding role and you will be provided with training where necessary.The role of Site Manager is key to the smooth running of our school and essential in our offer of excellence to our families and employees.
Job requirements


Minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, or equivalent qualifications

Good standard of maintenance and DIY experience with an understanding of health and safety parameters

Experience of working within an operational environment to provide day-to-day maintenance support

Ability to prioritise and plan own workload
