Summary

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our dynamic Compliance and Facilities team, which is constantly developing and looking for new and improved ways of managing fire and building safety across our portfolio of non-domestic and commercial properties.

The ideal candidate will be progressive and adaptable within the role and will always be looking to drive service improvements in a fast paced and changing legislative world of non-domestic compliance. Contractor management skills will be a key area for you; delivering within a framework of key performance areas makes the role both challenging and rewarding.

Customer safety is at the heart of everything we do at Beyond Housing. You will take centre stage in the delivery of a busy programme of maintenance and repair programmes. You will need to solve problems and make decisions to help meet our compliance targets, and you will do this with the support and guidance of an experienced and dedicated team. The Facilities Officer is a developing role, and you will play a defining part in this as compliance continues to adapt and we continue to develop our procedures.

The Fire Safety Bill brings greater focus and responsibility for us but also provides the support required to deal with non-conformance and access issues to carry out our maintenance work. Quality assurance for maintenance works, processes and procedures employed will be an area you will have authority over. You will have a leading role in internal audits as we continually look to review and improve; you will be involved in audit scoping, evidence collection, management responses and agreement of audit actions. The actions we agree on and carry out will be learning and improvement that gives assurance to the organisation. Our compliance partners are key stakeholders; therefore, you will play an advanced role in selecting who we work with, providing specification content and maintenance breakdowns.

You will be involved across all tender and contractor appointment processes, evaluating safety, customer focus, quality and cost. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of fire safety actions as we continue to review our communal spaces and uphold our high standards. To do this, you will lead a multi-departmental team of colleagues committed to delivering high standards of repairs and fire safety. You will develop key relationships across the organisation, providing and receiving expert support from health and safety, maintenance, housing, and estate teams, hence sustaining a collective approach.

Closing date for applications is Friday 16 May 2025, applications will be reviewed throughout the duration of the advert and we may close it early should enough applications be received. We are not working with recruitment agencies on this vacancy.
