Senior Authorised Person (SAP) – H&S Supervisor required for Commissioning of the Kelvin ERF.
Main Responsibilities:
•Implement the ACCIONA Mechanical and Electrical Safety Rules and have regard to the supporting mandatory and guidance documents.
• Work in accordance with their written Certificate of Authorisation or Nomination Certificate
• Implement procedures to ensure Safety from the System and from the test equipment as dictated by the test programme and consulting, as necessary, with Control Persons of other Systems to agree any actions which may be required to maintain Safety from the System.
• Correctly implementing specified procedures for releasing Plant and Apparatus for work or testing and for ensuring that all safety precautions which achieve Safety from the System are in place.
• Obtain the agreement of the Control Person to the release of Plant and Apparatus.
• Confirm through the Control Person that safety precautions at remote locations are complete.
• Check with the Control Person to confirm that the safety precautions which have been taken are suitable and sufficient for the work or testing to be done.
• Instruct Authorised Persons to carry out the necessary operations to establish safety precautions which achieve Safety from the System.
• Prior to the issue of a Safety Document, confirm that the decisions for the isolations, stored energy release, drainage and earthing is adequate.
•Check that the contents of the Safety Document to be issued are correct.
•Implement the necessary procedures to ensure that the safety precautions established to achieve Safety from the System are maintained during the period that the Safety Document will be in force.
•Decide whether the work to be done under a Permit for Work or Limited Work Certificate.
•Decide whether Personal Supervision is required.
•Issue the Safety Document together with, any associated documents and Keys. Ensure they are placed in safe custody.
•Cancel or suspend Safety Documentation as required.
•Ensure the details stipulated in the Safety Documentation is correctly applied.
•Inform the Control Person of the completion of work or testing, details of any restrictions on returning the Plant and/or Apparatus to service, and, in the case of a Sanction for Test, any changes to the condition of the System concerned.
•For work on or testing of L.V. Apparatus, determining whether this is to be carried out in accordance with approved procedures by a Competent Person, or under a Safety Document.
•Decide, in those cases where it is not otherwise specified the category of Person who shall provide Personal Supervision in situations where it is required.
•Monitor the work.
•Report writing and documentation review – including RAMS.
Job Requirements:
-Have Attended and passed the City and Guilds HV System operations C&G 6037 course (both written and practical tests)
Be a Competent Person who is qualified to a minimum of HNC or equivalent in an electrical engineering discipline**
or
Be a Competent Person who is qualified to a minimum of HNC or equivalent in an mechanical engineering discipline** (**as required)
Note: **An SAP will only be permitted to manage systems they hold the relevant qualifications for. In some instances a mechanical SAP and an electrical SAP will both be recruited.
Skills Requirements:
Strong IT skills required.
Previous EfW experience desirable.
-Previous experience with foreign companies is desirable.
-Focused and collaborative attitude.
-Ability to communicate effectively with others.
