This job description sets out the current duties of the job role that may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the job role or the level of responsibility entailed.

Job Summary

To ensure all deliveries whether food or non-food are correctly stored inline with Health and Safety regulations and brand standard policies.

Candidate Profile

Experience:

Previous experience in a similar style of operation preferred but not essential.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong Communication skills (verbal, listening, writing).
  • Pro-active and reliable.
  • Able to work alone and within a team.
  • Flexible hours in line with business needs.
  • Must be well presented and have excellent personal hygiene.

Education or Certification:

Basic Food Hygiene Certified

Specific Duties

The following are specific responsibilities and contributions, critical to the successful performance of the position:

  • To complete temperature checks of fridges and freezers daily.
  • To complete temperature checks of delivery vehicles and spot check weekly.
  • To ensure that all food is date stamped on delivery.
  • To adhere to delivery temperatures legislation.
  • To ensure that the dry stores, delivery area and cellars, are kept clean and tidy and the floor mopped.
  • To store away all food and beverage deliveries.
  • To ensure all fridges are maintained in a clean and safe fashion, as per hotel standards.
  • To complete stock rotation for food and beverage (FIFO).
  • To attend the Kitchen brief meeting.
  • To ensure all food and beverage items are stored safely and correctly.
  • To follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures and ensure that safety shoes are worn at all times.
  • To ensure that all bar orders are delivered promptly, and empty barrels are collected Monday - Saturday.
  • To notify the Executive Head Chef of any out of date stock and short deliveries.
  • To carry out regular monthly stock takes for food only.
  • To ensure the back yard area is kept clean and tidy at all times, including ensuring that all cages and boxes are stored correctly and safely.
  • To ensure the delivery of all parcels to the relevant area on a daily basis, using a parcel log to record all deliveries.
  • To complete all relevant training as required.
  • To ensure the kitchen delivery corridor is left free of parcels and good before shift ends.
  • To ensure that the delivery area is monitored so that all deliveries can be received.

Other

  • Performs other related task as assigned by Management.
  • Complies with The Forest of Arden Hotel policies and procedures.
  • Working hours as required to do your job but normally not less than your contracted hours.
