Summary
We are seeking a motivated and visionaryService Lead-Audiologistto take on a newly created leadership role within the Adult Audiology service at East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Adult Audiology across our expanding service. As part of a Trust-wide redevelopment programme, we are investing significantly in our facilities across multiple sites:
• Lister Hospital: Now equipped with three newly installed sound-treated booths, a modern workshop, and telehealth consultation space within the ENT clinic.
• Danestrete Health Centre: Refurbished specifically for Adult Hearing Aid Audiology.
• QEII Hospital: Now focused on delivering Paediatric Audiology services.
• Hertford County Hospital: Set to become a state-of-the-art Audiology Hub by Autumn 2025, with 20 purpose-built rooms including eight sound-treated booths, consultation rooms, vestibular diagnostics space, dedicated admin and MDT areas, and staff wellbeing facilities.
To support this growth, six new Audiology positions are being recruited. The successful candidate for this post will take the lead in overseeing and developing our Adult Audiology service.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Audiology and the Paediatric Audiology Lead to drive high standards of clinical care, governance, training, and service development. Our ambition is clear: to be a centre of excellence in Audiology, delivering outstanding care for our community.
Work autonomously to provide highly specialised assessment and rehabilitation within the Adult Audiology service.
Contribute scientific expertise and specialist advice to consultant medical staff and other professional staff related to Adult Audiology.
Take responsibility for ensuring the training, competency and supervision of more junior colleagues and trainees, and assist in the line management of staff working within Adult Audiology.
Carry out research and development in Adult Audiology, including identifying, initiating and managing certain aspects.
Contribute to equipment management and procurement of Adult Audiology equipment.
Contribute to the financial management of the Adult Audiology service.
Provide statistical information on waiting lists and demand to support the Head of Audiology in maintaining referral-to-treatment targets.
Represent ENHT by participating in national strategic groups and projects related to Adult Audiology and ensure that ENHT is providing a modern and progressive Adult Audiology service.

5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,122
