Summary
The Role
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Practitioner to work within the Young Person’s Service, Via: Subwize Team, based in Barking and Dagenham.
This exciting and rewarding role will provide you with significant scope for growth and innovation within the Young Person’s element of an over-arching Integrated Substance Misuse Service.
You will:
• deliver age-appropriate excellent drug and alcohol services as well as wellbeing services to young people & young adults aged 11 – 25, including one to one key working sessions and group work.
• deliver early intervention and prevention work, in a variety of youth settings to prevent young people from engaging in substance misusing and risk-taking behaviours and enable young people to develop boundaries, emotional resilience and self-esteem.
• work collaboratively with colleagues and key stakeholder across multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring adherence with all Via policies and Safeguarding principles.
The Service
Subwize Young Persons Service is a vibrant substance misuse service, creative and passionate service which consists of Schools and community, Hidden Harm work and criminal justice Team. Our teams work collaboratively to provide valuable support to young people within the borough.
We are an outreach service working out in the community, with 1-2-1 key working sessions in schools, college’s and meet with young people in café’s, libraries and children centres. As well as meeting with our young people at the Vibe where we are based.
The core hours of this role will be Monday - Friday 9am until 5pm (with flexibility available) and there may be some occasional out of hours work which would be considered on a rota basis. For example weekend youth parade and summer projects.
Location
The Vibe, 195 -211 Becontree Ave, Dagenham RM8 2UT (Young Person’s Team office base). Please note: the role will involve some remote working including satellites and outreach.
