About the role
This SEO role as Team Leader South will ensure team across in their remit will meet operational demands and business objectives, through careful resource planning and management. Reporting to the Head of Operations you will have responsibility for the effective and efficient running of several dispersed operational teams.
This will be a key role offer direct leadership, day to day management of the teams and deliverables. It will require you to think creatively and tactically whilst empowering your team to perform.
You will be responsible for providing leadership for roughly 7 HEO inspectors and potentially several EO inspectors. You will be directly responsible for driving the productivity of your teams, ensuring high quality inspections, and high-quality casework outcomes.
This includes optimising resources to meet targets, ensuring appropriate work allocation, supporting in forecasting operational requirement and designing regionalised operational activity often with other enforcement bodies.
The role requires you to utilise data to drive performance identify risks and support your team. Alongside utilisation of data for performance and risk management the role will also ensure that EAS has a robust programme of proactive visits and joint activity. You will help ensuring EAS complies with the DLME strategy and continues to grow its stature in the Labour Market. There is also a strategically important role in working with stakeholders and sharing intelligence with other enforcement bodies.
Under this Governments ‘Plan for Change’ Government has committed to ‘Make work Pay’. A key element of this is the creation of the Fair Work Agency(FWA) which is included in the Employment Right Bill. EAS alongside the Gangmaster Labour Abuse Authority, and HMRCs National Minimum Wage Team are the three key bodies that will come together to form this new and exciting body. The FWA is a body at the forefront of delivery for the public and has intensive political investment in its success. You will be joining EAS at a pivotal time to help and support team into the FWA. Whilst also ensure the team continued success within the FWA.
High level planning is currently taking place. We expect this to happen in early April 2026 and this post will remain within the civil service.
