Salary: £14.87 per hour
Hours: 37 hours per week (3-week rota, between 6:30am - 10:00pm)
We are looking for motivated, community-minded individuals to join the Civil Enforcement Team at the local Council. You'll play a vital role in ensuring traffic and parking regulations are followed throughout the Thanet District, helping the Council meet the objectives of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
A full clean UK driving licence and willingness to undergo a Standard DBS check is essential.
️ Key Responsibilities: Enforce parking restrictions across the district in line with TMA 2004
Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for illegally parked vehicles
Collect accurate evidence when issuing PCNs
Perform daily checks on pay & display machines; report issues
️ Carry out weekly car park inspections
⚠️ Identify and report damaged/missing signage or faded lines
Assist the public with council-related enquiries
Work with CCTV, Streetscene Enforcement, and police on joint ops
Investigate and process abandoned vehicle cases
Basic understanding of traffic laws & Highway Code
️ Strong knowledge of the Thanet area
Basic computer skills
Full, clean UK driving licence
️ Excellent verbal and written communication
Physically fit and able to work in all weather
Team player with the ability to work independently
High attention to detail
Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
