Summary
We are delighted to be seeking to recruit 2 x substantive Human Rights Officers to work in GMMH.
Here in GMMH we are on an improvement journey which includes ensuring we practice in a way to uphold human rights and to demonstrate our responsibilities as a public sector organisation to support our citizens by embedding human rights in our provision of mental health care. We are looking for individuals with a background in Human Rights Law and practical experience working in public sector or voluntary sector services to embed human rights into policy and practice. You need to be a good communicator with the confidence to promote professional curiosity. Experience working across communities with protected characteristics would be desirable.
Post 1 : Adult Forensic Services.Human Rights Officer (Band 6)The postholder will work into Lowry Low Secure Unit and Edenfield Medium Secure Unit. You will work alongside the HOPES practitioner and clinical colleagues to provide education and development of practice within inpatient and community forensic services, provide consultation and advice on policy and practice. You will receive professional supervision from the senior human rights officer. This is a band 6 position within a service line.
Post 2 : Corporate Professions and Quality Directorate.Senior Human Rights Officer (Band 7)The postholder will agree their portfolio aligned to key drivers across GMMH to embed human rights into practice and within policy and strategic decision making. You will be line managed by the Consultant HOPES practitioner. This is a Trustwide position with supervision and advisory responsibilities to the Chief Nurse and Medical Director.
