About Us

Eryri National Park Authority (ENPA) protects the natural beauty, wildlife, and cultural heritage of Eryri National Park. Covering 823 square miles, the park is home to the highest mountain in Wales, the largest natural lake in Wales, and over 26,000 people.

Ffermio Bro: Farming in Designated Landscapes is a new programme to support the protection of landscapes in unique environments that will be launched later this year. Our Designated Landscapes are special and unique places and need to be managed, enhanced, and protected.

We are now looking for a Ffermio Bro Assistant Advisor to join us on a full-time basis for a fixed term contract until 2028, working 37 hours per week.

The Role

As a Ffermio Bro Assistant Advisor, you will support the delivery of the Ffermio Bro programme, building connections between Eryri National Park and the agricultural community.

Specifically, you will assist in identifying potential programme participants, support the provision of conservation and land management advice, and help signpost applicants to other relevant funding sources where appropriate.

Working alongside Ffermio Bro Advisors, you will act as a point of contact between farmers, the Eryri National Park, and funding bodies, ensuring advice and support are accessible and effectively communicated.

Additionally, you will:

- Help monitor the progress of funded projects
- Guide applicants through the application process

About You

To be considered as a Ffermio Bro Assistant Advisor, you will need:

- Experience working with farmers and land managers to achieve conservation objectives
- The ability to build strong working relationships
- Awareness of issues affecting farmers and rural communities in Wales
- A degree-level qualification in an environment, ecology, agriculture, or land management-related subject, or significant relevant experience
- A full driving licence, with the ability to travel across various sites
- The willingness to work outside typical office hours on occasion

Please note, this role will involve travelling across rough and isolated terrain.
