Job Description:
Phoenix Secure Transport is a growing company providing secure and compassionate transport services for individuals in the healthcare, SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities), and adult social care sectors. We are currently looking for Ad Hoc Secure Transport Workers to join our team on a flexible, on-demand basis.
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and secure transportation of service users to and from medical appointments, care placements, and other essential services. You will work closely with healthcare providers, families, and local authorities to ensure that service users receive the highest standard of care during their journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely transport service users to and from medical facilities, care placements, or appointments.
• Ensure journey logs, risk assessments, and handover reports are completed accurately.
• Provide a calm, supportive, and professional environment during transport.
• Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety protocols.
Essential Requirements:
• Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
• At least a Care Certificate holder (or relevant healthcare qualification).
• First aid certification (including basic life support or equivalent).
• Experience working with vulnerable individuals, including those in healthcare, SEND, or adult social care sectors.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and handle difficult or unpredictable situations.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, professional service at all times.
Desirable Experience:
• Previous experience in secure transport services, medical or care transport, or SEND transport.
• Experience using de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviour.
• Additional first aid certifications (e.g., paediatric first aid, mental health first aid).
• Knowledge of risk assessments, journey logs, and handover report documentation.
• Experience working collaboratively with healthcare providers, families, and local authorities.
• Flexibility and availability to work on short notice.
