Main purpose of the job:
As a teacher of Design and Food Technology, we are looking for someone with a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject. This includes a strong understanding of areas like nutrition, food science, product design, sustainability, and the use of relevant tools, materials, and technologies such as CAD/CAM and kitchen equipment. They should be capable of delivering engaging, hands-on lessons that inspire creativity while maintaining a strong focus on safety, precision, and real-world application.The ideal candidate should demonstrate a clear grasp of the curriculum and how to tailor lessons to suit a wide range of learning abilities and styles. They need to be organised, reliable, and able to assess student work fairly and constructively. Just as important is the ability to manage a dynamic classroom where students are often engaged in practical tasks that require close supervision and clear instruction.
