Summary
To provide and maintain a high standard of skilled nursing care for patients with Interstitial Lung Disease, using the agreed models of care. Assess patients on the ward with Interstitial Lung Disease for further management and discussion at the ILD MDT. Offer advice and support to nursing/medical staff with aspects of management and care. To provide support to the outpatient ILD Clinics, MDT and Patient Support Group. To advise on treatment changes, including oxygen therapy and to educate patients and carers around self-management. Ensure that appropriate patients are considered for medical follow up, pulmonary rehabilitation, smoking cessation and long term oxygen therapy, and palliative care. Participate in the development of teaching/ educational material for patients, carers and other health professionals and assist in its delivery and evaluation.
