Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Religious Studies Teacher to join our humanities team from May 2025.
At this school, Religious Education is a valued part of our curriculum, encouraging students to think critically, reflect on beliefs and values, and understand different worldviews. This is an exciting opportunity to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, and possibly Key Stage 5, depending on experience.
Duties as a Religious Studies Teacher:
Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking Religious Studies lessons that promote understanding, respect and critical thinking.
Assess and track pupil progress in line with departmental and school policy.
Contribute to curriculum planning, ensuring alignment with the locally agreed syllabus and school ethos.
Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe and respected.
Support the wider life of the school, including assemblies, enrichment activities and pastoral responsibilities.
Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department and across the school.
Promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through the subject.
Ideal Religious Studies Teacher:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Have a degree in Religious Studies, Theology or a related discipline.
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching RS.
Be a reflective practitioner committed to professional growth.
Have excellent classroom management and communication skills as a Religious Studies Teacher.
Be committed to safeguarding and the personal development of all pupils.
