Summary

Solo Service Group are recruiting a caretaker to join our team on a part time basis at Greatfield Park Primary School Hulbert Crescent, Cheltenham GL51 3FZ

We are looking for reliable and diligent individuals to join our team, we will provide all the necessary training, therefore we need you to bring the drive and commitment to support the collective success of the team.

10 Hours a week - 52 weeks of the year
Split shift am & pm - Monday to Friday
am 07:00 - 08:00
pm shift 17:30 - 18:30
Keyholding position
£12.98 per hour

Please note - Successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check.

Your main aim will be to carry out a range of caretaking activities on site to include unlocking and locking the building/s at the start and end of the school day.


Amongst other tasks you will also be required to carry out the following:

• Check for any damage to the site
• Check that the lighting, heating and water systems are working correctly
• Check for any fire hazards,
• Check all lights and taps are turned off
• Check that the heating and water systems are working correctly
• Ensure no one is left in the building or on site
• Secure all windows and doors and set intruder alarm systems
• Refill soap, toilet paper & hand towels (supplied by the site) and inform the premises manager when stock needs to be ordered
• Carry out general porterage duties including moving goods delivered
• Sweep the front entrance and keep clear of litter, leaves and dirt
• Empty external litter bins and place the waste in the site bins
• During any cold weather spells apply salt to all main pathways into the site and keep them free from snow and ice
- and other various other caretaking tasks as required

• Maintain Health and Safety standards at all times.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and stored correctly
• Deal with any customer requests promptly and courteously

To succeed in this role you will need:
• Good attention to detail
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and use initiative, while being part of a team
• To be reliable and responsible with a flexible approach to work
