Summary

A Vacancy at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust.

Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatric Emergency Medicine and Global Child Health

We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and experienced clinicians to join our team in the Children’s Emergency Department (CED) at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, and the Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) Paediatric pool with MSF France. This role involves paired 6-month postings in the CED and in the field with MSF.

In the CED, Senior Clinical Fellows will be responsible for the initial assessment and management of acutely unwell and injured children who self-present to the Children’s Emergency Department or who are referred by their GP. They will work alongside the multi-disciplinary team in the Children’s Emergency Department to provide excellent care to children from our local area and around the South-West.

In the field with MSF, they will have the opportunity to work in an international humanitarian organisation to respond to critical situations such as measles epidemics, nutritional crises or displaced populations. Alongside providing medical care for acutely unwell infants and children, their role will require managerial and administrative skills as they lead and train teams of healthcare staff. They will be supported by supervisors in Bristol CED who also work as MSF Paediatric Advisors.

As a forward- thinking multi-award winning Trust and a digital exemplar committed to improving patient care, our world-leading research and innovations are having a positive local and global impact. Our hospitals are spread across Bristol and Weston, join us and you can enjoy the very best of both worlds; city living within a stone’s throw of the countryside or beside the seaside, both with easy access to all that the South West has to offer. As an equal opportunities employer actively working towards a diverse workforce we aim to recruit and retain a workforce which represents the rich diversity of the local population at all levels and are committed to designing our services around the needs of individual patients and those around them. Anonymous information will be used from your application in order to ensure we’re meeting our pledge.
