Summary

MSK Band 5 Radiographer

Full time 37.5 permanent

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated radiographer to complement our friendly, social and dynamic Radiology team here at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to further your clinical experience within the field of musculoskeletal imaging. We are a busy orthopaedic radiology department carrying out all types of general and specialist orthopaedic examinations. All radiographers rotate to general x-ray, fluoroscopy and theatres. There is also an opportunity to rotate through our bone densitometry suite.

All staff are required to work 4 days per week over 7 days and cover on-call shifts from home over the evenings, nights and weekends. This post requires an active role in the maintenance of image quality and high standards of diagnostic imaging as well as the mentorship and support of student radiographers. Participation in the on-call rota for evenings and weekends is required.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest NHS teaching trusts in the country. It provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services and is a base for medical education, training and research. Find out more here www.ouh.nhs.uk

The Trust comprises four hospitals - the John Radcliffe Hospital, Churchill Hospital and Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Headington and the Horton General Hospital in Banbury.

Our values, standards and behaviours define the quality of clinical care we offer and the professional relationships we make with our patients, colleagues and the wider community. We call this Delivering Compassionate Excellence and its focus is on our values of compassion, respect, learning, delivery, improvement and excellence. These values put patients at the heart of what we do and underpin the quality healthcare we would like for ourselves or a member of our family. Watch how we set out to deliver compassionate excellence via the OUH YouTube channel.

This is an opportunity to gain the highest standards of orthopaedic radiography and to develop your career within our supportive and friendly department.

You should hold the appropriate BSc qualifications and experience in orthopaedic radiography. In addition, you must have excellent communication skills and be able to work on your own initiative and as a member of a team.

Please note that this post is subject to a 6 month probationary period.
