Summary

Support Worker needed at Local Charity

37 hrs/week (Mon to Fri)
£12.44/hr: £ 23,934.83 (Spinal Point 2)
Start date: a.s.a.p (with DBS clearance)
Location: NE24 1LL

Journey’s Learning Disability Support Workers plan and deliver a differentiated a timetable of morning and afternoon activities for groups of 8-10 adults with learning disabilities and complex needs. Client activities sessions are designed to meet the requirements of each Client’s Care Support Plan, our Day Service contracts, funded programmes and the Care Act. Activities are held both on site and in the community, in line with our Day Service contract requirements.

We deliver a varied programme of activities weekly. Clients choose their activities to meet the needs set out in their Care & Support Plans. All activities are designed in a Person-Centred Approach. This enables us to create a bespoke programme for each person.

About us

Journey Enterprises is a local charity which was founded by parents of young people with learning disability and complex needs over 40 years ago. Launched in Northumberland we now operate across the north east. We have four Day Centres: Acomb and Blyth (Northumberland), Coundon (County Durham) and Newcastle upon Tyne.

Qualifications

Care experience in a relevant setting
NVQ level 2 in Health & Social Care for Adults - must have or be willing to work towards.
Skills in medication administration and behaviour management - desired
Valid driver's license
