Summary

We are looking to fill a Commercial Heating Boiler Service Engineer role within the Commercial Gas Team, in Property Services.

As a proactive Commercial Boiler Service Engineer, you will be expected to travel throughout the Kirklees District, and surrounding areas to deliver the duties of this role and meet the needs of the business and its customers. You will visit premises and properties to carry out installation, maintenance and repair tasks; predominantly within schools and public buildings, in line with contractual requirements. You will have excellent communication and customer care skills to effectively liaise with a variety of customers and clients both internally and externally.

You will be required to work from a handheld mobile device and complete relevant records to ensure the department has up to date and accurate information.

You will be expected to work flexibly, around core hours, based on an annual hours allowance with the needs of the business being the priority. You may also be required to work overtime and be a participant on the call out rota as requested by management.

To be considered for the role it is essential that you:

Possess an NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical engineering Installation.
Have served a recognised electrical or mechanical apprenticeship.
Have a Full UK valid driving licence.

We are happy to consider candidates who do not have all the essential commercial gas qualifications as required in the person specification as we will support successful candidates to undertake and achieve these within agreed timescales. As a minimum the routes we will consider are:

Route 1 – Hold all essential qualifications, and able to provide certification of these, as detailed in person specification;

Route 2 – Hold COCN1 Core Commercial Gas safety, ICPN1 & ICPN1A testing commercial gas systems and willing to undertake further units as and when necessary.

Route 3 – Hold CCN1 - Core Domestic Gas Safety for 12 months and willing to immediately undertake COCN1 - Core Commercial Gas Safety, ICPN1 and ICPN1A testing commercial gas systems;

You will be asked to detail which route you meet in your application.
