The role and what we are looking for:We are recruiting a creative and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support our students and teachers in delivering excellent outcomes for all.
Applicants must have good interpersonal skills and be adaptable and resourceful when helping students with different needs and backgrounds, including those with emotional and social difficulties. Most of all, we need passionate people who want to make a difference to vulnerable students.
Previous experience of working with young people is essential.
You will be working with a supportive and dedicated team of staff who believe all students deserve our full support to achieve their very best. We have a strong programme of staff development and opportunities to work with a wide variety of professionals in the academy, local community, and wider Trust.Job overview:
You’ll be responsible for assisting with planning, preparation and delivery of lesson provision, both on a whole-class and individual basis, preparing resources to support learning activities as well as ensuring pupils are supported pastorally. You’ll contribute to evaluating student progress and provide feedback to the class teacher to ensure all students’ learning needs are being met.
Job requirements:
A minimum of 3 GCSEs at C grade or above, including English and Maths
Teaching Assistant qualification desirable
Experience of class supervision and assisting with lesson provision to achieve positive learning outcomes
Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work in tandem with teaching staff
Ability to be empathetic and understanding to the needs of students and build good relationships with children and adultsHigh expectation of behaviour and ability to challenge without confrontationCalm and adaptable with an ability to work within a flexible and busy environmentUnderstanding of students' personal as well as academic needs and to treat with respect
Able to empower children to access all areas of the curriculum and to achieve their maximum potential
