We have an exciting new opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapy within the Hounslow Community Neuro-rehabilitation Team.
Our Vacancy is for Permanent Neuro Occupational Therapist B6- Full time 37.5hrs.
This is an ideal post for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking to further develop their neurology and management skills and B5 Occupational therapist that are looking for a new challenge.
This job will allow the successful applicant to further develop a breadth of clinical skills with patients who often have a complex neuro presentation, as well as consolidate the necessary skills required for specialised practice. There is a strong focus on personal and service development, and you will be given opportunities to participate in in-service training programme and external training where appropriate. We also have highly experienced clinicians within the team who are keen to support your ongoing personal and professional development. There will also be opportunity to participate in service and national audit activities including SSNAP as well as evidence-based practice development activities.
• The Hounslow Community Neuro Rehab Team (CNRT) is a newly formed client-centred, integrated Multi-disciplinary team comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, a Neuro Psychologist, a Psychology Assistant, a Pharmacist, a Specialist Nurse practitioner, and Rehab assistants.
• The Neuro-rehab team works across both intensive short-term rehab and longer-term rehab pathways. There are opportunities to develop skills in rapid assessment and facilitating discharge from hospital, long term condition management and specialist neurorehabilitation.
• The service has developed specialist MDT clinics for Parkinsons’ Disease and Multiple Sclerosis and this post enables opportunities to develop specialist skills with these conditions. The team also help rehabilitate patients following acute stroke within the community in both pathways and treat patients with a variety of long-term neurological conditions. The team works toward achieving personal set goals with patients including return to work.
• The development of the Hounslow CNRT is part of a recent community therapy service restructuring which is under a monitoring and review process.
