Summary


Senior Healthcare Assistant

Band 3

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week, all MKUH roles will be considered for flexible working

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Health care assistants in Outpatients. The role will involve working alongside nursing staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality and effective nursing care.

We are seeking individuals who are enthusiastic, compassionate, flexible, and creative in their approach.

If you have excellent communication and time management skills and a passion for providing the highest standards of care to patients, we would love to meet you.

We offer in house induction and support.

Flexible working options are available to meet the needs of the service.

The post holder will be required to undertake the Care Certificate and MKUH standards within the first 12 weeks of employment.

· To assist in the induction of new staff within the department, demonstrating duties to new starters. Lead in setting an example to new starters to ensure safe and effective care.

· Support with day-to-day supervision of Healthcare Assistants within the department.

· Support with the assessment of Healthcare Assistants competency documents and care certificate.

· To organise own daily workload, adjusting and prioritising appropriately as the ward activity dictates.

· Communicate factual information to patients regarding their condition within clinical remit. Patients may have barriers to understanding such as a physical or mental disability, including dementia and so information will need to be delivered with tact, empathy, and sensitivity.

• To act at all times in a professional and courteous manner.
• To ensure compliance with mandatory training.
• To participate in the Trust’s appraisal system be involved in continuous development, keeping up to date knowledge on the Healthcare Assistant’s role.
• To participate in department meetings as appropriate.
